Hmmm...
Roughing out some character movement lines, and then I put those and the new background together to test how it looked once rendered.
I was not certain myself, I thought there was but then as a bit of a perfectionist there was the slight possibility that I was making more work for myself.
As such, I decided to get a second opinion.
Unfortunately, it was as I feared, there's a bit of a jump cut present. It may be passable as it is a dream sequence, however, it still leaves a jarring affect on the audience.
Hence, I am back to square one with this bit, which lasts on screen for about 3 seconds.
What utter joy.
I was advised that I should completely change the camera angle, so it is unmistakably different from the first one I have used.
Here, instead of angling the camera slightly and moving it back, I have moved it so that it is looking on from the left side.
Though the house is not present in this bit anymore, I think it is all right as this bit shows her trying to escape from the house and it's presence.
I can always bring the house into the frame later on.
After sketching up the outline, and finishing the curb, and painting in the base colours for everything else, Photoshop crashed on me. And, I hadn't saved what I'd done. Bye-bye, an hour and half (ish) of work.
Then, I took a break, had some food and raised my sugar levels.
And two cups of tea later, I had this.
Now, to do some keying...and remaking some puppets...
I can see things in this background that I would like to work on some more, but there is no time. My priority isn't perfection, but wholesome animating. Yes, that's what it is.
