As always, I played around with the composition and angles.
I knew I wanted the character to be approaching the hedges from the right side. while this angle is good, I felt it was a bit too similar to another which I have done already, and I didn't really want this to be a part of that pattern.
I wanted the character [Emily] to be running straight across the screen, as this would work the piece right before it, which focuses on a close shot of footfalls.
This would be possible with a similar background layout as seen above, but I felt that was too straight of an angle to use.
I relaxed the background angle, but I still felt that the overall framing wouldn't be quite what I want it to be.
So I did one more:
...where I drew in the final position of the character before setting up the environment. In the end, this is the most effective angle; for both animating the character the way in which I want to, as well as leading the audience focus naturally toward the next set up of the film.
