The Set Last Week and the Set This Week~~

Happy lunch time~~~

Despite my thoughts on Saturday that this week I would instead be working on my 2D section of my film, I am still working on my set. Just the finishing touches mind - it is mostly finished.

Today, while working on these final touches, I have added some alterations to the look an style of the 2D section in order to let them sit better together in the one film. A good thing I haven't started that bit yet. It should be in keeping with the art style of my set and puppets, as best as I can, at least.

Here is how the set for the stop motion bit looked last week:

Little Problems and Schedule Slips...

Okay, so I am not normally an organised person. Perhaps the reason I try to immerse myself in chaos is because I don't deal too well with things not working out the way they were supposed to. As a bit of a control freak, I do not enjoy having my plans messed with. But some events are just beyond a person's control.

Basically, I am not impressed with my lack of getting everything together in time. I strongly dislike that my schedule is not being followed.  I mean: what is the point in having made one in the first place...?

I know, I am being quite silly right now. But as I am sat on the studio floor typing this, I feel  bit better for having just said it.

Fear not, though. In case you are my tutor/university overseers (?) then do not fret: I have not thrown in the towel yet. I am determined to have my filming down pat and in order for some relaxed pace post production work to be done in the month of April.

Hence, the little problem that has set me right down here on the floor, is that the board that is to hold up the sky (literally) has to be delivered. And to top it off, it won't be here until March. Yes, you read that right, MARCH. I might be allowed to think that you have had to sit down upon reading this, also.

Man and Van booked!

After a bit of a slow day yesterday, I have arranged for a van and driver to pick up and transport equipment from the university site to the studio.

Which means: an extra early start on Monday! I'm looking forward to getting set-up this next week. Once everything is in place and all that remains is to animate, I will feel so much more relaxed.

I just hope I remember to book out all the equipment I'll need....

Wish me luck!

Budget Expenditures (So Far...)

I have compiled a spread sheet of budget expenditures, which shows what I have spent on what so far.

Here it is: Budget Expenditures.

Updated Production Schedule

Unfortunately I have slipped behind schedule (as you may already know...!) and as such I have added purpose to that vacant column in my original week by week break down.

Here it is...

What happened last week...

Last week there were many things on that have slowed down the progression of set-making. There has been another lecture on freelancing from a collective group standpoint, which was also interesting. I''ll be posting up notes I took on that in due course. Further, there has been an after effects workshop, which has been more of a refresher than anything totally new. Regardless, I did learn some things that will be useful both now and in projects to come.

This week, I will be finishing off entirely the set (thankfully I only need the one...!) as well as the four puppets. Even as I am typing this, I and my araldite (glue) are busy sticking things together.

Hopefully there will be more postings on progress this week....maybe.

P.S. I am now three weeks behind my original schedule.
